Sheltered from wind by the canyon walls. Small huts available if you want a roof. The drive in is rough (check conditions) but the reward is worth it. From here you can hike to dramatic viewpoints, explore caves, and feel completely removed from the Ring Road crowds just 20 minutes away. Popular with photographers for the other-worldly green canyon light. Book ahead in summer - this place has become famous on Instagram, so word is out.
