Do you offer travel advice or custom itineraries?
Not one-on-one — the site is designed to help you plan your own trip. We're working on an AI trip planner that suggests itineraries based on your dates, interests, and driving comfort. Meanwhile, the interactive map and aurora forecast are the best self-serve tools.
I run a tour / rental / hotel company in Iceland. How do I partner?
Email info@mapoficeland.is with a one-paragraph pitch: who you are, what you offer, what kind of partnership you're thinking of. Commission-based affiliate, deep integration, or featured placement — happy to discuss.
Can I use your maps / data / photos?
Depends on what. Most map data is from OpenStreetMap (use under their licence). Most POI photos are from Wikimedia Commons (Creative Commons — credit the photographer). Our original editorial content is © Map of Iceland — link freely, reasonable excerpts fine with credit, but don't republish in bulk. Ask if you're unsure.
I'm a journalist writing about Iceland travel. Can you help?
Yes — happy to provide data, commentary on Icelandic tourism trends, or introductions to operators. Email info@mapoficeland.is with your deadline and angle.
Something on the site is wrong / broken. What do I do?
Email with the URL and a one-line description. Safety-related issues (wrong info on an F-road, missing warning, etc.) get prioritised. Everything else gets fixed in the weekly review.
Do you have an app?
Not a native app yet — but the website works as a progressive web app (PWA): open on your phone, tap "Add to Home Screen", and it behaves like an app including offline access to your saved POIs. Native iOS/Android app is on the roadmap.
Or browse the About page first if you're new here.
