Gesthús is a big, central site in Selfoss that stays open year-round. A washing machine and dryer are there for a small charge. The camping is split in two — one area for tents, another for motorhomes and folding campers with electricity, plus motorhome waste disposal. The town centre, swimming pool, sports area, a restaurant and a grocery store are all within walking distance. Hot tubs are open to guests for a small fee, and the service centre sells breakfast from 08:00 to 10:00 along with coffee, soft drinks and wine from the bar. Bungalows and summer houses sleep up to six.
Wild camping rules have tightened. Use designated campsites to stay on the right side of the law.
