Sandártunga is a quiet, tree-sheltered campsite in Þjórsárdalur, in the south. Facilities are deliberately basic: cold water, toilets and a small playground, with no electricity on site. Grassy pitches sit divided by trees, and walking trails run nearby. Open from mid-May to mid-September.

It's a valley setting in Þjórsárdalur, with walking trails close by for short strolls and a look around the area. Bike routes run nearby too. Dogs are welcome on a leash, and children stay free. The season runs from 15 May to 15 September. You can turn up on the day or book ahead. If your idea of camping leans toward peace and trees rather than amenities, this fits.
