You reach Þorlákshöfn's campsite from Skálholtsbraut, on a flat patch of ground beside the sports centre and the church. It's central, so the town's amenities are close. The service house covers the basics well: five toilets, two showers, somewhere to wash up, and electricity. The swimming pool is next door, and around it you'll find a football field, a playground and the wider sports area — handy if you're travelling with children who need to burn off energy. There's a golf course and fishing in the area too. The site is open from 15 May to 15 September and takes drop-ins, so it works as an easy overnight stop on the south coast.
