Trees shelter this small site in Fljótshlíð, which looks across to Eyjafjallajökull. It has its own café and bar, plus showers, electricity and WiFi. Waterfalls, walking trails and the Tumastaðaskógur woods are close, and the nearest swimming pool is about 10 km away. Open May to the end of September.
Trees do the heavy lifting at Langbrók. They wrap the site and cut the wind, and there's a view out to Eyjafjallajökull to go with it. It's a small, cosy place in Fljótshlíð. The surprise for its size is the on-site café and bar. Beyond that you get the usual comforts done well: showers, toilets, electricity, a washing machine, WiFi and wheelchair-accessible facilities. Dogs are fine on a leash, and there's waste disposal for motorhomes. For getting out, waterfalls and hiking trails sit close, including the Tumastaðaskógur woodland. The nearest swimming pool is about 10 km off. The site runs from the start of May to the end of September, which makes it a long, dependable season by Icelandic standards.
Wild camping rules have tightened. Use designated campsites to stay on the right side of the law.
