Eyjafjarðarleið

A highland road that runs from the Eyjafjörður coast up to about 926 m elevation, ending at the Laugafell hot spring.

The climb itself, not a river, is the main challenge here — expect a steady grade and gravel surface rather than water crossings on record. Check conditions before you go since weather changes quickly with altitude, and a medium 4x4 is the minimum, not a suggestion.
