Litlanesfoss is a waterfall in Hengifossá in Fljótsdalur, Eastern Iceland, also known as Stuðlabergsfoss. The waterfall is about 30 meters high and forms an apron in a cliff. The waterfall is in a large rock choir with an unusually regular supporting rock made of high and straight columns.
Third tallest in Iceland at 128 meters. Red clay stripes in the cliff face tell millions of years of volcanic history. It's a solid hike up (2.5 km each way), but you pass another beautiful waterfall called Litlanesfoss on the way. East Iceland doesn't get enough love - this is why you should go.
