Litlanesfoss is a 30-meter waterfall on the Stekkalækur stream in East Iceland.

The sound of falling water fills the air. Mist catches the light. This is Iceland at its most elemental.

The waterfall is about 30 meters high and forms an apron in a cliff. The waterfall is in a large rock choir with an unusually regular supporting rock made of high and straight columns..

Come early morning or late evening to avoid crowds. The light's better for photos anyway. Bring layers - waterfall spray plus Icelandic wind equals cold.
