39 waterfalls in North Iceland

Dettifoss
Europe's most powerful waterfall. This beast moves 500 cubic meters of water per second. The ground literally trembles. Grey glacial water plunges 44 meters into a massive canyon. Featured in Prometheus for a reason - it looks like another planet. East side has easier access, west side is more dramatic. Either way, prepare to be humbled.

Selfoss
The horseshoe-shaped neighbor of Dettifoss. Only 11 meters tall but incredibly wide and photogenic. Most people come for Dettifoss and miss this beauty just upstream. Take the extra 15 minutes. The canyon views between the two falls are spectacular.
Ingvararfoss
Örnefnaskrá Stórutungu. AG: Skammt ofan við Aldeyjarfoss er í fljótinu Ingvararfoss og enn lengra suður Hrafnabjargafoss. Örnefnaskrá Litlutungu.AG,KJ: Norðan undir nesinum, austan Aldeyjarbjarga, er nokkuð mikill foss sem heitir Ingvararfoss.

Aldeyjarfoss
Hidden gem in the highlands. Basalt columns frame the falls like a natural amphitheater. White glacial water against black rock - the contrast is unreal. Requires F-road driving but nothing too crazy. Far from the crowds. One of my personal favorites for photography.
Ingvararfoss

Geitafoss
waterfall in Iceland [Icelandic info]: Örnefasnkrá Rauðár.

One of Iceland's tallest at 122 meters. Located in a dramatic canyon with its smaller neighbor Granni right beside it. You'll need a 4x4 to get close, then a short hike to the viewpoint. Remote, uncrowded, and absolutely worth the effort. The scale is hard to grasp until you're standing there.
