Tjaldsvæðið á Þórshöfn

Set above Þórshöfn village, this campsite puts you within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and services below. It's built for tents, motorhomes and caravans, with showers and toilets, hot and cold running water, electricity and four EV charging points — plus picnic tables dotted around. Next door is the Þórshöfn Sports Centre, where you can use the indoor pool, hot tubs, sauna and gym. The staff there also point visitors toward what's worth seeing. Þórshöfn itself is a fishing village with a long maritime past — worth a wander around the harbour. From here you're close to the Langanes Peninsula, Rauðanes and Bakkafjörður, with trips out to Sauðaneshús or the cliffs at Skoruvík. The season runs mid-May to mid-September.
