About

A family-friendly site next to Ólafsfjörður's sports centre on the Tröllaskagi Peninsula. A small pond beside it holds birdlife and tiny fish, where young kids can try fishing, and there's a jumping pillow on site. The service building runs two showers, a kitchen, washing machine and dryer. Children stay free.

Ólafsfjörður's campsite is a family place first, set next to the town sports centre on the Tröllaskagi Peninsula. The pond beside it does a lot of the entertaining — it's full of birdlife and tiny fish, and it's a favourite spot for small children to have a first go at fishing. A jumping pillow and a playground add to the appeal. The service building is modern and gets good marks from campers: two showers, a kitchen for cooking, laundry with washer and dryer, and an open barbecue shelter. There's more to do close by — walking paths, outdoor fitness equipment, and both mini-golf and disc golf. Children stay free, and the site is open from 15 May to 15 October. It's an easy, well-kept base for exploring the Tröllaskagi scenery.

Book ahead in summer, especially near popular spots. Campsites fill up by late afternoon.
