About

Forest Lagoon (Skógarböðin) is a ticketed geothermal bath complex at Veigastaðir in North Iceland, 2.6 km across the fjord from Akureyri.

6 km from Ráðhústorg in a straight line; the operator calls it a five-minute drive. Two pools of 530 m² and 330 m² are held at 37 °C, with a Finnish sauna at 80 °C and a cold pool at 11 °C.

Open every day from 9am to midnight, with guests asked to be out by 23:30. Entry is tiered: Warm buys the pools, while Calm and Delight add a drink and a towel.

Skógarböðin is the same place under its Icelandic name — OpenStreetMap records one venue at this position, not two. If a map shows you both names near Akureyri, they are the same baths.

Rates read off forestlagoon.is on 2026-07-28: Warm 7,490 ISK, Calm 10,150 ISK (drink and towel), Delight 11,210 ISK (two drinks and towel). Ages 6–15 pay 3,790 ISK with last entry at 18:30; under-6s are free. Towels are not included in Warm — rental is 1,400 ISK. These are published rates and not a live feed, so confirm before you book.
