About

Mývatn Nature Baths is a geothermal lagoon in North Iceland.

North Iceland's answer to Blue Lagoon. Similar milky blue geothermal water, but way less crowded and half the price. Located near the otherworldly Mývatn lake area.

Milky blue water, steam rising, volcanic landscape. Like Blue Lagoon but quieter and cheaper. The mineral-rich water feels silky. Perfect after a day exploring Mývatn's weird geology.

Opened in 2004 as a northern alternative to Blue Lagoon. Uses geothermal water from the Bjarnarflag area. The surrounding Mývatn region is one of Iceland's most geologically active zones.

Same vibe as Blue Lagoon, half the price, fraction of the crowds. Combine with visiting Dimmuborgir, Grjótagjá cave, and Námaskarð in the area. Book ahead in peak summer.
