Hverinn, Kleppjárnsreykjum

Hverinn pairs a restaurant with a campsite on Route 50 at Kleppjárnsreykir, about 25 minutes out from Borgarnes. The ground is tucked among shrubs and greenery, which gives it shelter and a calm feel, and there's space for somewhere between 100 and 150 pitches with electricity throughout. Being next to the local school and swimming pool has its perks: over summer, guests can use the playground, football field, basketball court, and pool. Heated service buildings hold the toilets, showers, and hot and cold water. The site leans into groups and events, with six double rooms and an event hall seating up to 100.
