A remote campsite in Iceland's southeast, close to the Fláajökull glacier and its marked walking trails. Open June to mid-September. Beyond tent and van pitches, Haukafell rents 16 m² Canva tents that come with beds and linens, so you can arrive without gear.
Haukafell sits in the southeast, out near the Fláajökull glacier where marked trails run into the surrounding country. It's a quiet base for walkers, well away from the busier stops. The site keeps things simple: toilets, cold water, a waste-disposal point for motorhomes, and walking paths on the doorstep. Dogs are welcome on a leash. The season runs from the start of June to mid-September. If you're travelling light, Haukafell rents 16 m² Canva tents fitted with proper bedrooms and linens — a roof and a bed without hauling your own kit. You can turn up on the day or book ahead.
Book ahead in summer, especially near popular spots. Campsites fill up by late afternoon.
