About
Engimýri takes motorhomes and caravans only — no tents — on a site in Hörgárbyggð, North Iceland, ringed by mountains and hiking trails. Pitches have electric hookups, water and chemical-toilet emptying, and there's a hot tub for the evenings. Open early June to mid-October.
This one's for wheels, not canvas: Engimýri is set up for motorhomes and caravans, and tents aren't permitted. The pitches come with electrical hookups, water access and a point for emptying chemical toilets. Mountains sit in every direction, with hiking trails leading off from the site, and a hot tub waits for the end of the day. The guesthouse restaurant serves breakfast and dinner from 1 June to 10 September. The campsite season runs a little longer, from early June to 10 October, and you can turn up on the day or book ahead.
Wild camping rules have tightened. Use designated campsites to stay on the right side of the law.
