Djúpivogur

You're right in the centre of Djúpivogur here, with the harbour and its comings and goings in full view. The service building covers the basics: cooking facilities, a lounge, a washing machine and dryer, electricity, plus motorhome waste disposal and fresh-water refills. Internet is available to buy. Prefer a roof over canvas? The site rents small cabins — you bring your usual camping kit but sleep indoors. Most of what the town offers sits within 500 metres: the swimming pool, grocery store, museums, restaurants and cafés. Walking trails lead off towards both the mountains and the coast, and boats run out to the island of Papey. Reception is at Hótel Framtíð. The campsite stays open year-round, though services thin out from December through February.
