Á is a campsite on the southern shore of Breiðafjörður near Búðardalur, in West Iceland. It splits into two areas — one in a birch wood by the Ártindar rocks, one on the farm's home field. Open all year, with a former dairy house converted into the service building. Drop-in, no booking.
The service building here was once a dairy house. It's been reworked to hold toilets, showers, hot and cold water, and laundry, plus an indoor kitchen with a stove and microwave for cooking out of the wind. You get two spots to pitch. The older area sits in birch woods beside the distinctive Ártindar rock formations; the newer one spreads across the farm's home field, where the electric hookups and a motorhome disposal point are. Birdlife is heavy along this stretch of Breiðafjörður, and marked trails run from the site — including a newer route along the Ártindar cliffs to a viewpoint over the fjord. It stays open year-round, and you turn up rather than book ahead.
Book ahead in summer, especially near popular spots. Campsites fill up by late afternoon.
