About

Granni is a waterfall in the Icelandic Highlands.

The Granni is a waterfall that cascades into the Fossardalur right beside the Háifoss. .

The sound of falling water fills the air. Mist catches the light. This is Iceland at its most elemental.

Fed by glacier melt and rainfall, this waterfall has been carving its path for thousands of years. The cliffs here were once Iceland's coastline before the land rose from the sea.

Come early morning or late evening to avoid crowds. The light's better for photos anyway. Bring layers - waterfall spray plus Icelandic wind equals cold.
