Jarlhettur Staka Jarlhetta And Stora Jarlhetta hiking trail

Jarlhettur Staka Jarlhetta And Stora Jarlhetta

We went to Jarlhettur, a small mountain range east of Langjökull, with my mountaineering group Fjallagengið last Sunday 18th September. A beautiful day, sunny and no wind at all. We started on Staka-Jarlhetta (664m) then crossed over to Stóra-Jarlhetta (943m). There were two other groups there at the same time: Fífl (fjallalæknar) and Ferðafélagið. This area is just absolutely beautiful and overwealming. I really love going over there. Photos here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10210809393819393&type=3

Iceland Trek Day 11 2016 08 23 From North To South hiking trail

Iceland Trek Day 11 2016 08 23 From North To South

It's part of a 20 days hike. Beware it's not the normal north south Iceland Hike. It's mostly offtrail, there are one extremly difficult river to cross and 20km on a glacier. There are a few dangers, I put tag on the track, but I'm not sure it's 100% acurate, because I made it from memory. I also put tag for water, but in case of water from snow it doesn't mean it will work for you too. In any case I'am not responsable if anything happen to anyone who follow this track. If you have question don't hesitate. Link of the video of the Hike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fIwiThG_qM&t=16s

Kerlingarfjoll Jokulfall Hofsjokull

Hike in the Jökulfall valley to a small nice waterfall in an impressive canyon. In the first part a river has to be crossed. The way back passes two lakes and crosses two small canyons with another waterfall. We crossed them on snow fields in mid juli 2018. So it is not clear wether you can cross them under other circumstances.
