Urðartindur spreads across two large fields at Norðurfjörður, in the northern Westfjords, looking over the fjord and its mountains. A sandy beach sits just below for a stroll or a paddle, and the site has cooking facilities, a café next door, cabins and EV charging. Open mid-May to the end of September.
Urðartindur takes up two broad fields at Norðurfjörður, with the fjord and a ring of mountains filling the view. Just below the site there's a sandy beach, good for a walk or wading into the sea. Practically, you get cooking facilities, dishwashing, toilets and a washing machine. Electricity can be rented for motorhomes, and there's an EV charging point. The owners also run a guesthouse and small cabins, and the café next door serves food and drink. Dogs are welcome on a leash. The site sits in Árneshreppur, which rewards the drive out. Krossneslaug pool is about ten minutes away with views over Húnaflói bay, and hiking trails of varying difficulty start nearby. There's also a heritage and craft house at Árnes worth a look.
Book ahead in summer, especially near popular spots. Campsites fill up by late afternoon.
