CampEast - Stöðvarfjörður

East Iceland, Icelandfrom 2,500 ISK/nightBookable9 facilities

About

CampEast sits in the eastern part of Stöðvarfjörður village, in a small forest with walking paths and a playground. The Petras stone collection — the largest in Iceland — is close by, along with year-round tourist information. There's electricity, and children camp free. Open June to early September.

Right beside the site is the Petras stone collection, said to be the largest in Iceland, which pulls in a steady stream of visitors and is reason enough to stop in Stöðvarfjörður. The campsite itself sits in a small wood on the eastern side of the village, with walking paths running through it and a playground for children. It has toilet facilities and electricity, and tourist information stays open all year just nearby. For filling a day, a swimming pool and fishing are on the list, and the wooded setting makes for easy strolls. Children stay free, the season runs June to early September, and you can book ahead or turn up on the day.

Camping cards can save you money if you're spending multiple nights in the tent. Do the math.
