About
Sælukotið Árblik lies about 12 km south of Búðardalur, just off Route 60 on the road to the Westfjords. It's one large, continuous camping field in the Dalir region, open May to September, with electric hook-ups, waste disposal and football goals. Drop-ins and pre-booking both work.
Space is the selling point here: a single open field big enough for solo travellers, families and larger groups, which is why it's a favourite for family reunions and gatherings. It divides into zones — A has electricity, B doesn't, and C and D are tents only. Facilities are straightforward: a chemical-toilet disposal point, electrical hook-ups and football goals for a kickabout. The season runs from the start of May to the end of September. The site sits on the right-hand side of Route 60 as you head towards the Westfjords, roughly 12 km south of Búðardalur. The wider Dalir region has plenty to explore, and there's a dedicated area set aside for eclipse-watchers in August.
Camping cards can save you money if you're spending multiple nights in the tent. Do the math.
