A restaurant and gas station are about 400 m away. Children stay free; the site takes no advance bookings.
Camp East sits right at the entrance to Reyðarfjörður, beside a small pond and hemmed in by mountains, with the sea air of the Eastfjords. It's set up for both tent campers and motorhomes. Facilities are comfortable: hot showers, toilets, electricity, a washing machine and dryer, outdoor tables, and a cosy kitchen unit with a couple of indoor tables. Motorhomes with removable tanks can empty them at a point on site between the pond and the kitchen; vehicles that need drive-over drainage can use the gas station about 400 m away. One thing to note — Parka bookings don't guarantee a hookup or a set spot, and the site takes no advance reservations. The advice is simple: turn up, pick your spot, pay on site. A restaurant, shop, healthcare and more sit within a short distance. Children stay free; open May to October.
Book ahead in summer, especially near popular spots. Campsites fill up by late afternoon.
