Set on the slope above Grundarfjörður, this site looks out either to the sea or the surrounding peaks, with Kirkjufell in view from the pitches. It's broken into several smaller areas so everyone can find a spot, and the two main sections have toilets, dishwashing and accessible facilities. The location is the selling point. Sitting in the middle of the northern Snæfellsnes peninsula, it's a good place to settle for a few nights and drive out to the peninsula's sights and the national park. The swimming pool is next door, with walking and hiking trails close at hand. The area is also set up for horse riding, kayaking, whale watching, golf, sea angling and boat-based birdwatching. Open all year.
