Arnarstapi
About
Below Stapafell mountain in Snæfellsbær, West Iceland, the Arnarstapi campsite sits just above the Arnarbær restaurant, with thirteen bungalows lining its edge. A coastal path runs the 2.5 km to Hellnar through the lava, and a national park is close by. Open May to October; children stay free. Book or drop in.
The pitch sits just above the Arnarbær restaurant, with Stapafell mountain rising behind and thirteen bungalows ringing the edge of the site. Two service houses cover toilets and showers, there's a dishwashing spot between them, and a dozen electricity outlets are available. The walking is the draw. A coastal trail links Arnarstapi and Hellnar, tracing the shoreline and running into the lava at Hellnar — roughly 2.5 km each way. A national park sits close by with plenty more to see. The site opens from May to late October. Children stay free, and you can book ahead or simply drop in. Horse rental and food service round out what's on offer.
Camping cards can save you money if you're spending multiple nights in the tent. Do the math.
