Bolungarvík

The swimming pool is the anchor here. The campsite sits beside it on the river Holsár, and the same people staff both — so check-in and a swim are handled by the same crew. The pool itself has hot tubs, a water slide, and cold tubs. There's plenty clustered around: a sports centre, football field, frisbee golf, and a golf course, with museums a short way off. On the campsite you get a service house with cooking facilities, laundry with a washing machine and dryer, toilets, electricity, and a barbecue. During pool hours you can use the toilets there as well. The site opens from mid-May to mid-September, and it's a drop-in stop — no pre-booking needed.
