Sundlaugin á Hofsósi

The swimming pool in Hofsós, open daily in summer with shorter, split hours the rest of the year. Adult entry 1,400 ISK — call ahead in winter (455 6070), the schedule changes a lot.

Heiðarbær

Heiðarbær's pool sits within reach of Mývatn, Goðafoss, Ásbyrgi and Jökulsárgljúfur — a handy stop if you're covering North Iceland's greatest hits. Hot tub, sunbathing area, a campsite next door, and food for sale. Open 10:00–22:00, adult entry 1,000 ISK.

Hrísey

A 12.5 m outdoor pool for all ages with a dedicated children's pool, a hot tub, and a cold tub. There is also a steam bath and an infrared sauna. An accessible private changing room is available, and lockable lockers are in all changing rooms. All guests must wash without swimwear before entering the pool.

Þelamerkurlaug

Built in 1943–45 by local youth associations and named Jónasarlaug, after poet Jónas Hallgrímsson. The school took it over in 1963, and it got a major renovation in 2008.

Sundlaugin Laugum

A public swimming pool at Laugar in Þingeyjarsveit, about 40 km from Húsavík, 40 km from Akureyri (via the Vaðlaheiði tunnel), and around 20 km from the Mývatn area.

The pool is 16.67 m long and 6.95 m wide, with a maximum depth of 2.5 m and a minimum depth of 0.9 m. It was extensively renovated around the year 2000, with new changing rooms built and the old building refurbished.

Sundlaugin í Grímsey

The pool in Grímsey is indoor — the island has no geothermal heat, so every drop of water gets heated some other way. It's 12.6 x 6 m, with a hot tub and a sauna.

Dalvík

The pool has a 12.5 x 25 m swimming pool, hot tubs, a children's and rest pool, a water slide, a mushroom fountain, and a steam bath. There is also a gym on site.

Íþróttamiðstöð Eyjafjarðarsveitar

The pool at the Eyjafjarðarsveit sports centre has good access for people with disabilities. A private changing room is available, a shower chair is on hand, and lifts are provided into the hot tub and the pool. A changing-room door can be opened to add space for wheelchair access, and a ramp leads to the pool for wheelchair users.

Grenivíkurlaug

The Grenivík pool is 16.67 m long and sits above the campsite, both renewed in 2011, with views over the village and Eyjafjörður. New tubs were added in December 2020: a large hot tub at 39°C, a wading pool at 37°C, and a cold tub at 7°C. The pool itself is 29°C.

Glerárlaug

Glerárlaug is a 16.7 m indoor pool. The outdoor area has two hot massage tubs, a wading pool, a cold tub, and a stone steam bath.

Varmahlíð

A two-part outdoor pool: a 12.5 x 25 m pool and a 12.5 x 8 m children's pool. The children's pool is kept warmer than the main pool and has a small water slide. There is also a hot tub beside the pools.

Sólgarðar í Fljótum

Sólgarðar í Fljótum's pool runs on a limited local schedule — a few afternoons and evenings a week, not daily. Adult entry 1,400 ISK.
