The town's health walking loop starts nearby, and the Reykjadalur valley is within reach for a day out. Distances are short for the essentials: a swimming pool about a kilometre off, a golf course around three, and horse rental a bit beyond that. Plenty of good restaurants are close by too. The service house is well equipped, with toilets, showers, a washing machine, and a dryer. Outside sits a covered dishwashing area with hot and cold water and large barbecues, plus a charging station for electric cars. It's open all year.
