Húnaver

Húnaver spreads across a large plot in Svartárdalur, a valley in the north with plenty of open scenery to look at. There's room here, which is part of the appeal. Facilities are straightforward but cover the day-to-day: electricity, showers, and toilet areas both indoors and out. A restaurant handles meals, there's a playground for children, and a Wi-Fi area keeps you connected. There's no charge for kids. The season runs long by Icelandic standards, from the start of June through to late October — useful if you're travelling the north on the shoulders of summer. Dogs are welcome on a leash.
