Skiptárfoss is a waterfall in the Westfjords of Iceland.
Skiptárfoss is a waterfall in the Westfjords of Iceland, located between the municipalities of Reykhólahreppur and Vesturbyggð. The stream Skiptá, which forms the boundary between the two municipalities, is the outflow of Skiptárvötn and plunges 80 m down. The stream is fed by snowmelt, and toward the end of summer it carries little water. Until 2014, the road (Vestfjarðavegur, Route 60) crossed a bridge between the waterfall and the mouth of the fjord Kjálkafjörður; the route was later realigned to bypass the inner fjord.
