Geothermal lagoonSouth Coast, Iceland

About

Geothermal spot. Surrounded by Icelandic landscape. Bring your own towel.

Iceland's oldest swimming pool, dating to 1891. A natural hot pool in Flúðir village, smaller and more relaxed than Blue Lagoon. Steam rises from surrounding hot springs.

Unpretentious and warm. Locals and tourists mixing. Watch a small geyser erupt while you soak. The steam and surrounding landscape make it feel natural despite the facilities.

Built in 1891 as one of the first public pools in Iceland. Fell into disuse, then was restored and reopened in 2014. Now it's a popular Golden Circle stop.

Way cheaper than Blue Lagoon and more authentic feeling. Still gets busy midday with tour groups. Morning and evening are quieter. The small geyser erupts every few minutes.
