Breiðavík við Látrabjarg

Breiðavík sits on the road that runs out to Látrabjarg, well into the Westfjords. It's better equipped than its remote position suggests. The bath house has hot showers, flushing toilets, and sinks, with a coin-operated washer and dryer alongside. There's a kitchenette to cook in and a barbecue grill outside, plus several electricity plugs for RVs and trailers. Free internet, coffee, and tea are thrown in. It's set up to take families of any size, with fishing among the things to do nearby. The season runs from the start of May to the end of September, and it's a drop-in site rather than one you book. A handy base if Látrabjarg's cliffs are on your list.

Book ahead in summer, especially near popular spots. Campsites fill up by late afternoon.
