About 1.5 hours (120 km). Usually combined with Þingvellir and Geysir on the Golden Circle.
Can you swim at Gullfoss?
No. Way too powerful and cold. The viewing platforms keep you at a safe distance.
Why is it called Golden Falls?
On sunny days, the mist creates golden rainbows. Some say it's the golden-brown color of the glacial water.
Is Gullfoss crowded?
Peak summer, yes. Come early (before 10am) or late (after 5pm) for fewer crowds.
