About this vehicle

This is the Proace with one fewer seat and a leather interior — a deliberate trade of one seat for more comfort per passenger on long driving days. Automatic, 2WD, and aimed at groups who'd rather have eight people comfortable than nine people cramped.

It's the same road-trip logic as the rest of the van lineup — keep the group together, split the fuel cost, avoid a two-car convoy — but pitched at travelers willing to pay more for the ride quality.

Good fit for a family group or a work retreat where the extra comfort matters more than squeezing in a ninth passenger.

Where it can take you

2WD, built for paved roads — Ring Road, Golden Circle, South Coast. Fine on good gravel at low speed; F-roads are illegal in a 2WD and would void the insurance. Skip rough unpaved stretches and any highland route.

Winter driving

Handles cleared, plowed winter roads confidently, with studded tyres fitted seasonally (Nov 1–Apr 14) under Icelandic rental law. As with the other vans in the fleet, watch the wind forecast on exposed stretches — crosswinds affect a tall van more than a low car.

Luggage & fuel

With all 8 seats filled, expect around one bag per person, similar to the 9-seat vans but with slightly more breathing room per passenger. Drop to 5–6 passengers and there's real space for full-size suitcases.
