The Vito covers the same nine-seat, 2WD, automatic brief as the Proace and Trafic, but with a Mercedes badge and a noticeably more refined cabin. For groups who want the practicality of a big van without it feeling purely utilitarian, this is the upgrade.

Where it can take you

2WD, built for paved roads — Ring Road, Golden Circle, South Coast. Fine on good gravel at low speed; F-roads are illegal in a 2WD and would void the insurance. Skip rough unpaved stretches and any highland route.

Winter driving

Handles cleared, plowed winter roads confidently, with studded tyres fitted seasonally (Nov 1–Apr 14) under Icelandic rental law. Like other tall vans in the fleet, watch the wind forecast on exposed stretches — crosswinds affect a van more than a low car.
