What to expect during the tour This tour takes you to see many of the most beautiful sights on the south shore of Iceland. Enjoy the photogenic 60 m drop waterfall at Skógafoss, be adventurous and walk behind the magical Seljalandsfoss, experience the Black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara, and admire the beauty of the Sólheimajökull glacier on a hike. Our first stop will be at Skógafoss, a stunning waterfall with a 60 meters drop (210 - foot), that has been used as a backdrop in films such as Thor - The Dark World , Game of Thrones, and more. We will continue through the glacial landscape of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Icelands 4th biggest glacier, to the Black Sand Beach Reynisfjara, known for its basalt columns, caves, and the impressive basalt stacks Reynisdrangar, just off the shore. The highlight of the tour will be at Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier from Mýrdalsjökull where our experienced certified glacier guide will be guiding you on a glacier hike adventure. When you reach the top of the glacier, you will receive a surprise and everyone will be filled with joy and celebrate the surprise together. We will end our journey at the picturesque waterfall Seljalandsfoss, where visitors can walk behind the waterfall.

What to bring
- HIKING BOOTS ARE MANDATORY.
- Warm clothes (first layer). Waterproof outdoor clothing.
- Good warm clothes during the winter. Hat and gloves.
- Hiking boots above the ankle (available for rent is you ask for) .
- Jeans are not recommended for outdoor trips as they become very heavy and cold when they get wet.
Good to know
- Rocky terrain when walking behind Seljalandsfoss.
- Rocky terrain on the way to the glacier and the glacier hike takes about 3.5 hours in total.
- During the glacier hike, we will spend 45 minutes to 1 hour on the ice.
- You might get a little wet if you get too close to the water of the waterfalls.
- Minimum age is 8 years old for the Glacier Hike.
- This hike is rated easy to moderate.
- The weather can be unpredictable in Iceland, and during winter more. So you may expect us to occasionally alter the tour itinerary if weather/road conditions are unfavorable.
