About this tour

The Experience

Take flight on a journey where the four elements converge: fire, ice, water, and air. Heat rises from the crust below as glaciers stretch toward the horizon, while rivers create intricate patterns through the valleys. This is more than sightseeing; it is a front-row seat to the power of the elements. From the colorful rhyolite mountains to the ice-covered giants of the south, you will experience the surreal beauty of a landscape still finding its form.

The Details

This route focuses on the southern highlands, flying over the iconic glacier-volcanoes of Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull . We explore the hidden valley of Þórsmörk and the steaming, multi-colored landscapes of Landmannalaugar . The flight also tracks the infamous Hekla volcano and the massive Háifoss waterfall, which plunges 400 feet into a volcanic canyon, providing an exhaustive survey of Iceland’s most famous highland landmarks.

At A Glance

• Aerial views of Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Hekla volcanoes.

• Highland survey of Landmannalaugar and the Þórsmörk Valley.

• One landing at a location selected by your pilot. We always aim to tailor the spot to your preferences wherever the weather and safety permit.

What’s included

  • Approx. 15-minute scenic landing (weather permitting)
  • Private helicopter exclusively for your group.
  • Experienced pilot

What to bring

Good to know

  • - Icelandic weather is famously unpredictable and can change quickly. Safety is our absolute priority, and all flight decisions are made with this in mind.
  • Alternative Routes: If conditions prevent us from taking the planned path, we will offer an alternative route.
  • Flexibility: We are often able to postpone the flight by a few hours until the weather passes or reschedule to a different date, subject to availability.
  • Cancellations: If we must cancel due to weather and rescheduling is not an option, we will issue a 100% refund.
  • - We are based at Reykjavík Domestic Airport (not Keflavík International), a 10–15 minute drive from downtown. You can find us on Google Maps under “ Volcano Heli – Iceland .”
