About this tour
Northern Lights Tour in Reykjavik
Leave Reykjavík behind and head into Iceland's winter wilderness on a Northern Lights adventure designed for travellers who value comfort, expert guidance, and the best possible chance of witnessing the Aurora Borealis.
After pickup in Reykjavík, travel aboard a modern 57-seat comfort coach equipped with onboard Wi-Fi and a restroom. As you leave the city's light pollution behind, our experienced local team continuously monitors live weather conditions, cloud cover, and aurora forecasts to select the most promising viewing locations for the evening.
Unlike tours that follow the same route every night, every departure is planned according to real-time conditions. This flexible approach helps maximize your chances of experiencing one of nature's most spectacular phenomena while enjoying a relaxed and comfortable journey through Iceland's winter landscapes.
Along the way, your guide will explain the science behind the Northern Lights, how aurora forecasts work, and why each viewing location has been carefully selected. You'll also receive practical photography tips to help you capture the Aurora Borealis, whether you're using a professional camera or simply your phone.
Stay warm with complimentary hot chocolate as you wait beneath Iceland's dark skies for the first signs of shimmering green ribbons, dancing curtains of light, or colourful aurora displays.
The Northern Lights are visible from late August/September to April, but as a natural phenomenon, sightings can never be guaranteed. If the aurora does not appear during your tour, you are welcome to join one additional scheduled departure free of charge, subject to availability. For the best opportunity to see the lights, we recommend booking your tour early during your stay in Iceland.
Combining experienced local guides, real-time aurora forecasting, comfortable transportation, and carefully selected viewing locations, this Northern Lights tour from Reykjavík offers a relaxed, informative, and unforgettable Icelandic winter experience.
